Why is it necessary to eat 5-6 times a day?

Eating 5-6 meals per day opposed to 3 meals allows the body to digest and metabolize the food easier and more efficiently. The amount of food eaten at these meals is typically far less than would be eaten otherwise. Eating this way will train your body to become satisfied with less food quantity, will help your body metabolize food better, thereby burning more of the calories for energy, instead of storing them as fat, and will also help keep blood sugar levels from rising to high, which can cause overeating, energy drain and in the long term cause type 2 diabetes.

Why is it so important to keep a food journal?

A food journal will provide structure and help you stay aware of everything you eat. This will also help us monitor exactly what you are eating so we can make accurate adjustments to your program.

I sometimes feel guilty when having my cheat meal, do I have to have it and is it really that important?

Having a cheat meal is good for a number of reasons. First of all if you eat very clean and balanced every day you deserve one cheat meal a week. Second by having a cheat meal actually shocks your body and spikes your metabolism, this can help you in burning fat! And last we like to think of the cheat meal as a reward for all the hard work and sacrifices you made throughout the week. We believe that this is a realistic approach to completing your goals, and will help keep you eating healthy for the long term because you will feel less deprived and your cravings will be significantly reduced.

Why does this system require me to weigh in and have my body composition done every week?

We recommend the weigh in and body comp. every week so that we can monitor your progress properly and make adjustments as needed. This has also been proven to keep people accountable and stay on track. It also helps you stay motivated because you will see how all your measurements are going down and how you are getting closer to your goals.

Why do most diet programs only have you weigh-in without mentioning anything about body-fat testing?

This question is very common amongst people that have done other diet programs, and it helps to show the flaws that most of them have. Most diets are very generalized ways to cut back on carbs and calories. When this happens the first response of your body is to lose a large amount of water, some muscle and a little bit of fat. The promise of “Lose 20 pounds in 30 days” should be disclaimed by saying “It’s not all fat”. In the initial stages, the person dieting will lose scale weight, but that doesn’t prove that there is any body fat loss. Also, scale weight is so subjective that it will not tell the counselor what is really happening. For proof of that try weighing yourself first thing in the morning and then last thing at night, there will probably be at least a 3 pound difference. We measure body fat because that is what needs to go, the muscle and other lean mass needs to stay because that will keep your metabolism higher and help you keep the fat off easier.

Why is it so important to balance your nutrients?

Eating a balance of protein, carbs and fat at each meal will help to keep your blood sugar levels steady, thereby lowering insulin and making it easier to lose fat. Also this balance will be more likely to create a sense of fullness after the meal. It is proven that having a mix of all 3 nutrients in each meal will make absorption easier and will stimulate metabolism more than a meal with only 1 or 2 of these nutrients.

Why does everyone talk about low carb diets and why doesn’t the Pro Balance System advocate in it?

You need carbs!!! Despite what Dr. Atkins says, you need carbs. Carbohydrates are the body’s energy source, in the absence of carbohydrates the body will break down stored proteins (lean muscle) for energy. This is not only inefficient but unsafe!!! The body cannot survive on a low carb diet for very long without many adverse side effects. Our program, is not low carb, or high carb, it is whatever is appropriate for the individual and their goals, nothing more and nothing less. The balance is what is important, and that is what our program offers. Nobody should be afraid of carbs, they are not the enemy that everyone thinks they are.

What makes the PBS supplements better than the other ones on the market?

The PBS line of products are formulated and designed by a team of experts that include, biochemist, nutritionist, and other specialist in nutrition . All of our products are manufactured through GMP Certified manufactures and tested so whatever is on our labels is in the products.

How long do I stay on the Pro balance system?

For life! The PBS is a lifestyle change and should never be looked at as a diet program, it’s simply a healthy way to eat and live. The key feature of our system is that your program will change as you change. You might come in and want to lose body fat, and have a program created for that. Then when you reach your goal, you may want to just be on a maintenance plan, we will create that plan as well. Our program can be tailored to any goal and any body.

Do I have to take supplements to be on the pro balance system?

No. We do sell supplements, and believe that they can help many people get the nutrition they need easier than with solid food only, but they are not for everyone. The sad truth is that most foods today do not contain the same amount of vitamins, minerals and enzymes that they did a decade ago. New growth procedures for most foods have changed, and it has become more essential to get our needed nutrients from another source. Multi-vitamins and other essential nutrients supplements are very convenient sources of these. Remember our job is to make healthy living EASY, if it helps to use a supplement, than we will provide it, if you don’t need it than we won’t.

What happens after I reach my goal?

At this point we will teach you how to maintain your goals through proven methods of counseling. We have thousands of clients that have completed their goals that still practice this healthy lifestyle that stay on their program for motivation, structure and accountability.

Do I need to take Essential Fatty Acids (EFA) and what do they really do?

Yes, EFA’s must be in your diet somehow, these fats are crucial for organ function, hair, skin and nail health, eyesight, optimal brain activity and for development of many body cells. They also play a key role in development of muscle tissue and fat loss.

What is the difference between Pro MRP and other protein powders on the market?

Our Pro MRP is designed as a healthy and balanced meal replacement. The formula contains many different sources of protein, slow digesting carbs, and a full variety of vitamins and minerals. Also if you asked most of our clients they will tell you it tastes better than any other powder that they have ever tried, and actually enjoy drinking it as a shake.

Why is it so important to drink at least 64 oz of water per day?

Water is our most important nutrient. The human body cannot and will not function properly if it is not well hydrated. Water must constantly be replenished within our body at all times if we are to stay in maximum health. Not drinking enough water will also cause chronic fatigue, will lower metabolism, will make you hungrier and will cause your body to experience accelerated aging. 64 oz is a bare minimum; most should be exceeding that, especially if exercising.

What are the benefits in resistance training?

Resistance Training provides a host of benefits, from increases in strength, to increased bone mass, to improved brain function, to better heart and lung function, to improved self image, to better weight management and also for stress relief. RT is critical to success with any nutrition program; very few people have long term success without also doing resistance training.

Why is it important to do cardio?

Cardiovascular exercise (exercise lasting 5-60 minutes continuously) will help to improve all the same body functions as resistance training, but with more emphasis on heart, lung, and brain function as well as muscular endurance. It will also speed metabolism and burn extra calories, thereby making it easier to lose body fat.
